01 · The low end
Deep, physical and fast.
The lowest octave of a film score is felt as much as heard: the rumble before the storm, the weight of a starship passing overhead, the kick drum you feel in your chest. The Cinema Pro 18S delivers it with an 18-inch long-throw driver in a rigid, heavily braced, sealed cabinet, reaching down to 20 Hz in the room. Sealed, so the bass starts and stops with the soundtrack: tight and controlled, not boomy.
02 · Reference level
Cinema reference bass, in your room.
Commercial cinemas are calibrated to deliver 115 dB of low-frequency effects. Two Cinema Pro 18S bring that level to your seats down to 30 Hz. Four take it all the way to 20 Hz, with the bass spread evenly across the room.
03 · More than one
Even bass at every seat.
In any room, bass builds up in some places and cancels in others, so one subwoofer can sound right at one seat and wrong at the next. RP22 recommends two or four subwoofers in a symmetrical layout, ideally at the midpoints of the walls, and generally prefers four. Why two or four.
04 · Installation
Built into the wall.
A landscape cabinet, 610 mm wide and 560 mm high, designed for baffle-wall installation alongside the Cinema Pro 8 screen channels.
05 · The system
Crossed to the screen.
The Cinema Pro 8 and Cinema Pro 6 hand over to the subwoofers at their high-pass point. The processor aligns level, delay and equalisation at the seats.
